Unfortunately Gen. Greene's cemetery site was severely vandalized 2 weeks ago in the Village of Apponaug, Warwick, RI, where he was born & buried. His comrades brought a boulder he stood on commanding his men on July 2 from Culp's Hill and placed it as his headstone. Many people worked together to clean, find stones & help repair them. It was a very sad few days. We also plan to honor a private co. who came forward to lend a hand, donating services, employees, & equipment to right stones and repair, and weld some of the original iron fencing--he is planning to be with us on Sept. 22.
We thank you so much for helping us make this a great day.
