How can I keep reading about New York events and not read anything on Mumford? This year is, after all, the 25th Anniversary. Its a good thing that has gotten even better.

This is the description from their website, you would have thought that they would really push the anniversery part to build up the event but its not even mentioned... :?:

The scenario we have chosen this year is the Battle of Falling Waters, 7/2/1861, in which Union General Robert Patterson defeated Confederate General Thomas Jackson. Ultimately however Patterson withdrew freeing Jackson to join the Confederate forces at Manassas where he would earn the nom de guerre Stonewall.

We, (the 149th NYSV), plan on attending Mumford this year. Looking forward to it, as I myself haven't been able to get out there for the last three years or so. I feel Mumford is definitely one of the best run NY events.

Falling Waters was last year actually. Guess it's time I updated the webpage. The scenario this year is First Manassas. Mumford is an invitation only event so you won't see any advertisements and such in the reenactor press. We are planning a ceremony and a Saturday morning tactical in recognition of the anniversary. There are also anniversary t-shirts and medallions available at cost.

I do. I imagine your wondering when the ladies tea is?

Seriously, now. If you want to know when something specific is let me know. The highlights are a tactical at 6 am on Saturday morning followed by breakfast, drill and occupying the village. The Confederate formation for battle is at 12:30, just before they go out we'll have a recognition ceremony for the aniversary. The spectator battle is at 2. The portion in the Great Medadow is based on Bee's retreat and Henry House Hill. The Sunday battle is also at 2.

I've been to Mumford several times for this event ( as a spectator mind you) and have always enjoyed it, but one thing I always wished I had was a listing of units and their websites..Something that could be handed out with the maps when you enter, that way if you have interested in this hobby you have a list of units and contact information.. Might be a good way to drum up recruits..

Gentlemen,
Can someone create a link for the event web page? I tried to access it, but my computer kept saying the page had expired.
