Since this forum is used mostly by New York units, I thought this would be a good post for people to find a ride to events. Maybe you'd like to attend an event buy your unit isn't going you could post here and maybe carpool with another unit..This would be a great help for out of state events.. Also, members of different units travelling together could start to build strong bonds amonst the New York units..Heck if Union and Confederate reenactors traveled together to an event, there still might be hope for the world...:)

Will it's nice to have someone sharing the ride. However riding alone aint all that bad either.I do it and you get to stop anywhere you want and take your dear sweet time doing it. Come in handy if a event sucks and you can kill a sunday afternoon site seeing. It's nice two if the guys who are riding shotgun with ya feel the same way

On the other hand, if the trip is 8 or more hours long, or you don't have a good car or a car at all. then finding someone to ride with is much better then not going at all.. I'm thinking of people who would love to go to a event but just don't have the transportation, granted it is nice to travel by yourself and stop and go as you please, but sometimes you don't have that luxary..There are many units in New York and maybe one is going to the event and has extra space where you could tag along, driving with someone to a event is better then staying home because of transportation..
