After much thought and consideration, I have decided to sell my ball gown. I used to be very active in Civil War Reenactments, and this was my labour of love.

This is a replica of a Medici style civil war ballgown that was popular during the Civil War era. It is made from a historically accurate pattern and was made to be worn during Civil War Re-Enactment Balls.

It fits a size 10-12.

It is made of emerald green moire silk taffeta, with a underskirt and bodice of creamy ivory moiree silk taffeta. The under sleeves are embellished by fake seed pearls, individually stitched in each intersection of the emerald green embroidery. The under sleeves simply slide on, held on by a piece of hidden elastic. The embroidery is machine made in a crisscross pattern that is reminiscent of a Renaissance style. The green over sleeve is attached to bodice and is accented by silk piping and has a silk tassel at the very end of the sleeve. The Medici style belt is also embellished with the same silk piping and has a centerpiece of pearls for that extra touch. It closes in the back with a metal hook and eye.

The bodice itself is finely boned, with a nice touch of beautiful white lace along the top. The bodice closes in back with a series of discreetly hidden set of hook and eye clasps. The skirt itself is comprised of both the cream taffeta underskirt and the green over skirt as one piece and the underskirt is bordered at the bottom by the green taffeta, with the same green piping. It comes with a six boned hoop skirt and clasps in the back with a metal hook and eye. It comes to you after being expertly dry cleaned, and in it's own protective plastic sleeve to ensure that it remains clean and fresh.

This dress looks best under a six boned hoop skirt, to allow the dress to flow gracefully. However, you can substitute a four boned hoop skirt if you must.

This is a one of a kind piece, hand-made with love and attention to detail. Don't settle for mass-manufactured ballgowns..go with something unique and beautiful as you are. My reserve is set at $200, which is a steal for such a gorgeous piece.
