Our user list continues to grow. I am curious as to what we have here as far as reenacting units? I know we have infantry units and cavalry units here, and I believe artillery as well. What actual regiments does everyone here represent? Or do you do a generic impression? Also, are any local Confederate units onboard here?

I'll start by saying we represent the 149th New York State Volunteer Infantry, Co. B.
This regiment was mustered from Onondaga County in September of 1862.

We portray a confederate artillery unit, Middlesex Artillery Co B 55th Va. We are members of the 9th bat ANV. We have two mountain howitzers and a 3 inch ordanace rifle. Our unit hails from Indian Lake to Albany to Herkimer and we attend 12-15 events a year here in NY and 3-4 events a year down south.
Nice to be aboard. Cpl M Gregory

We try to portray the members of the 136th NYVI, Company K, which was raised in the same area as we currently live, Allegany County NY. We mustered at Camp Williams (now part of Letchworth State Park) in September, 1862. Our choice of uniform and equipment is based on the original issue of the 136th as documented, but being a small unit, we have a generic side so we can fall in with other units at events.

Currently, I am just doing living history with the 122nd New York Infantry. I had 3 ancestors who fought with the unit.

That's pretty cool Alex, I've got several ancestors that fought in the 149th NYSV, as well as the 153rd NYSV and also NY Cavalry and Artillery.

It is interest in one of my civil war ancestors that led me to reenacting. My g-g-grandfather was in the 12th NJ, the Buck-N-Ball Regiment. He was wounded at Chancellorsville and eventually transferred to the Veteran Reserves. I have a bullet struck bible that he carried. His grandfather fought in the French and Indian War and was killed in action during the Revolutionary War. Some day, I'd like to try Colonial period reenacting.

Coincidentally, I can be found in the ranks of the 26th North Carolina from time to time. The 26th NC lost their flag to the 12th NJ at Gettysburg. Oh... I'm so conflicted! Laughing

It is my honor to be the Military Coordinator of the 140th NY Living History Org.
