I usually start mine with a visit to my Grampa Ladue's who served in W.W.I grave site and also pay my respects to my grandmother that I never knew( she passed away 5 years before I was born). After that I was invited to take part in services in my hometown Windsor N.Y.after a breakfast at a good friends house which happens to be the same house that Jed Hotchkiss was born and raised in.
That afternoon I will be marching with Col.David Ireland Camp 137 Sons of the Union Veterans in the Binghamton Mem.Day parade. On the way home I stop and pay respects to Col.David Ireland.

We, (the 149th), start our Memorial Day by meeting at the American Legion in Skaneateles in the early morning to form up for the parade. The parade stops at two cemeteries along the parade route where short ceremonies take place, and then we fire volleys in salute. The parade culminates at the Skaneateles Lake water front at the Veterans Memorial Park where another ceremony takes place, and we again fire volleys in salute. After the parade and ceremonies our group travels back to Syracuse to Oakwood cemetery, Woodlawn cemetery, Myrtle Hill cemetery, and if time a few others, where we place flags at the graves of 149'ers as well as other Civil War veterans.
